Ravichandran Ashwin practised Mankad in IPL
In the IPL 2019, Kings XI Punjab’s (KXIP) then-captain Ravichandran Ashwin dismissed Rajasthan Royals Jos Buttler by Mankad. Buttler, who was standing at the non-striker end, had moved out of the crease then Ashwin took advantage of the situation and removed the bail. This incident got limelight all around the cricket world and was also criticised. However, Mankad is legal in cricket laws but is said to be against the spirit of the game.
Recently, on Twitter, a fan asked Ashwin against which player he would practice the Mankad in the upcoming edition. The tall spinner gave a one-liner answer and said the one who would move out of the crease.
