The oldest player Pravin Tambe stunned with his incredible catching
The 48-year-old Pravin Tambe was not only the first Indian cricketer to appear in the CPL, but he was also the oldest cricketer in CPL history. While he played three matches in the CPL 2020, he still impressed everyone with his limited performances. One of his great moments in that tournament was taking an incredible catch.
It was the 29th match of the CPL 2020 which was between St Kitts and Nevis Patriots and Trinbago Knight Riders (6th September 2020). In the first innings of that innings, the Patriots didn’t get a good start and Tambe was one of those reasons.
On the third ball of the seventh over of the first innings, Ben Dunk (2) went for a reverse-sweep to the leggie Fawad Ahmed but it found a top-edge and traveled well over the wicket-keeper. After running to his right from backward point and covering several yards, Tambe finally dived and successfully grabbed a stunner. At that stage, the Patriots were battling on 29/3.
While Tambe had the bowling figures of 4-0-9-1 in that innings, Patriots were bundled out for just 77 runs (18.2 overs).
