Cricket Captain Shot Dead in Lawless Tribal Region of Pakistan
Tayab Khan, captain of a cricket team in Pakistan village bordering Afghanistan, was shot dead by a masked gunmen during a match in the Larkhaloozo area of Mamond tehsil in the Bajaur agency tribal region.
Reports said that Tayab was on the field when he was attacked. His team needed 10 runs need off two balls to win the match, when an unknown gunmen opened fire on him.
He was seriously wounded and unfortunately, he died before reaching the agency headquarters hospital in Khar. The assailants fled from the scene.
Meanwhile, the administration has launched investigations into the incident. According to locals, the victim had no personal enmity in the area.
Funeral prayers were attended by government officials and tribal elders.
