Indian wicketkeeper M.S. Dhoni is world famous for his captaincy, batting and for his brilliance behind the wickets. His safe and fast pairs of hands behind wickets are world famous as everybody knows the charisma of M.S. Dhoni behind the wickets. Whether it is stumping or taking a safe catch, everything is present there in Dhoni’s bag.

In one of the T20I’s played against Sri Lanka in February 2016, Dhoni produced two of the best stumpings of his career which pulled off our attention and forced commentators to pour praises on him. On that day Dhoni was extra quick and these stumpings act will tell you why.

It was only the first legal delivery of the game when Dilshan was facing Ashwin. Dilshan was deceived by the spin and missed the ball, his back foot came out for a matter of few seconds, Dhoni saw it as a chance and took no time to stump Dilshan the same moment he grabbed the ball. It was a blinder as there was just a small of chance but Dhoni really cashed upon that chance and dismissed Dilshan. He was praised highly by the commentators for this brilliant effort.

The second instance came in the same match when Chandimal too missed one by Jadeja and by chance, he lifted his back foot for a period of 4-5 seconds, that 4-5 second was enough for Dhoni to say bye bye to Chandimal and Dhoni moved his hand towards stumps in a way which left us stunned. He wasted no time; just grabbed the ball, touched the stumps and Chandimal gone.

These are still by far the two best of the stumpings which Dhoni has produced in a single day. Both of these were a real delight to watch as we haven’t seen anything like this before.
