Rishabh Pant: I Want To Keep Improving As A Cricketer And Play Positive Cricket
Fans are trolling India’s new wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant for his inconsistent performance during World cup, T20I and ODI match against West Indies. Rishabh Pant on the final day of ODI between India and West Indies said that he just wants to play Positive cricket.
India wins on Wednesday will seal the three-match series with 2-0. It’s crucial for 21-year-old to perform well to be in final XI.
“Obviously as an individual, I would like to have a big score behind my back. Every Time I go in, I am not focusing on that. I just want to play positive cricket and I want to win matches for the team. Every match is crucial for me, I want to keep on improving as a cricketer,” Pant told to media on the third day of ODI.
He got a chance during world cup to be the hero, but his choice of the shot made him go back to the pavilion. Similarly, Pant came to bat at the number 4 after India got off to a poor start against the Windies pacers but got dismissed by Carlos Brathwaite in the 23rd over.
But he was successful in getting a good score of 65 runs in the third T20I.
Pant opined that Indian team is not experimenting, but It is giving a fair chance to everyone.
“We are not experimenting, we are giving chance to everyone in the squad. Hopefully, everyone is getting the proper chance before going in, everyone is confident about their position because the team management is supporting them,” Pant said.
Asked about the pitch conditions in Trinidad, Pant said, “The pitch is slightly on the slower side, you need to give yourself time after going in and once set you can score more runs.”
