Indian selectors should keep an eye on Kuldeep Yadav: Sunil Gavaskar

Former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar said that he was impressed by Kuldeep Yadav good performances in the on-going IPL 9 season and Indian selectors should keep an eye on Chinamen bowler.

In the on-going IPL, he played in place of Piyush Chawla in yesterday’s match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. He picked 3 important wickets giving away 32 runs. Kolkata Knight Riders lost the match by 22 runs.

“He has been quite impressive and my honest advice to the Indian selectors will be to keep an eye on this young man. And the fact that he is a different kind of a bowler, you have got to be a little patient with him, but he is the kind of a bowler who can win you matches in the future. We should keep an eye on him,” Gavaskar told ‘NDTV’ about the 22-year-old Yadav, who was born in Kanpur.

In the last league match against Sunrisers, Yadav took the wicket of well-set Shikhar Dhawan for 51 and finished with figures of 2/28 restricting them to 149 for 8 to help KKR to win that match. In IPL 9 Yadav took six wickets in three matches which are quite impressive.

He was selected in the Indian team to play West Indies in October 2014 but did not get a chance to play because West Indies players withdrew the series of a dispute between players and board.

Kuldeep Yadav has played the Under 19 cricket World Cup in 2014 where he picked a hat trick against Scotland.  He was a member of Mumbai Indian squad in 2012 and signed up by KKR in 2014. Kuldeep Yadav plays for Uttar Pradesh in domestic tournaments where he has played 5 matches and taken 16 wickets.

Yadav is a useful bowler who can trouble the best batsmen in the world. He is one bowler who can win matches for India
