The expansion of the virus has led to the cancellation of all the sporting events including cricket. In the cricket-obsessed nation like India, it is hard for a cricket lover to live without the game. But the former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh believes that it is selfish to think about cricket at the time of crises.

The BCCI has called off all the cricket events but many are hopeful that they will surely witness IPL this year. BCCI is holding meetings to decide the future of IPL 2020. However, sources assure that it will be hard for BCCI to conduct the 13th edition of the IPL because many foreign cricketers may back out from the tournament. Additionally, to organize everything will also be a tough task as many state governments might not allow matches in their state.

The veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh said that the country’s priority is now health, not cricket because a game is a tiny thing in front of the health of its people.

“Honestly in this time, cricket does not come in my mind in the past 15 days. Cricket is a very small thing in front of the country. I will be selfish if would be thinking about cricket and IPL. Our priority should healthy and fit India. Sports will only take place if we stay safe and healthy. Cricket is not even in my thoughts,” Harbhajan told ANI.

“It is time to stay united and try to do whatever little you can do to make this country back on its feet”, he added.

Many cricketers have come in front to help the government in this crucial stage. Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, and Ajinkya Rahane have already donated. Even the BCCI also donated INR 51 crore in Prime Minister’s relief fund. The step by the BCCI was appreciated by fans.
