To achieve and maintain success in cricket for a long time, the cricketers must have to be very disciplined, just like the other sports’ players. Despite performing well, if the player doesn’t maintain a disciplined lifestyle, their successful cricket career can mostly be faded away very soon.
There are some great examples in international cricket where some top cricketers faced deep trouble in their international career due to their poor drinking habits.
Here we are talking about the top five cricketers who faced trouble due to their poor drinking habits.
Ricky Ponting

Former two-time World Cup-winning Australian captain Ricky Ponting was generally not an indiscipline person, and his successful cricket career is one of the biggest examples on this topic. However, once, he even faced suspension and the reason was alcohol.
That incident happened in January 1999. When Australia were participating in the home ODI tri-series (CUB series 1998/99), young Ponting was involved in a fight outside a pub in Kings Cross (New South Wales). Ponting also had a black eye in that incident. Later, he was suspended for three matches.
Ponting also admitted that he had a problem with alcohol. Though he thought that it would affect his international cricket career, his later success was too strong to shadow this controversy.
