Flamboyant South African batsman and T20 veteran David Miller has signed up with Welsh outfit Glamorgan for the ongoing Natwest T20 blast in England. With injuries plaguing the franchise for quite a while now, Miller was seen as an ideal replacement who could fill the void of their injured inventory. Miller is set to become the fourth South African to represent the side this season, with his teammates Jacques Rudolph, Merchant De Lange and Colin Ingram already being present.
Miller’s inclusion is certain to enhance the side’s prospects of advancing ahead given his stature in this particular format. The destructive southpaw has played at the IPL for several years now and with an ocean of experience under his belt, Miller is a certain match winner.
The Kings XI Punjab batsman was signed up mainly for his game changing abilities with the bat. Personally, the left hander might not have had a fruitful tour of UK recently, but he can at least seek some personal retribution with his stint here.
Rudolph was beaming with excitement, announcing Miller’s inclusion. “Having someone of his calibre, who has done exceptionally well in the IPL and playing internationally for South Africa, is great for us and he will add balance to our team,” said Rudolph about the signing.
Adding that Miller could fill a serious void in the camp, he added, “Unfortunately two of our young Welsh batters are injured currently so there’s not much we can do about that, but as a captain, it’s a delight to have someone of his calibre coming in.”
