Mustafizur Rahman has won millions of hearts since his arrival on the international stage, and the Bangladeshi pacer continues to impress with every outing. The left-arm pacer is currently representing Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL and has already registered himself as one of the leading wicket-takers in the tournament. Rahman’s economy rate has also been superb, as he has conceded runs at less than run a ball.
The youngster was instrumental in Sunrisers’ victory over Kings XI Punjab recently as he conceded just 9 runs in his 4 overs. Post that game, skipper David Warner was in complete awe of the pacer and also said that some of his deliveries were “unplayable”. “He’s a quality talent and what a display. “He always says to me ‘bowling no problem, but speaking and batting problem’,” said Warner jokingly about the young pacer.
Warner added that Bangladesh is a privileged side to have the services of Mustafizur around, as he is a genuine match winner. “He’s a special talent and Bangladesh should be privileged to have him,” Warner said. “He’s a world-class player and he’s proved himself here at the moment. “It is early on in the tournament but hopefully, he can keep continuing his form. His change of pace and knowledge of the game is very good.”
Sunrisers’ all-rounder Moises Henriques too was in complete awe of Rahman and called him a “genius”. “The little genius was at it again tonight at the death,” said the Sunrisers’ Australian allrounder Moises Henriques. “We know if we can keep the pressure on up front he’ll do the job for us at the end. “It’d be interesting to go back in history and see a bowler who’s bowled three of the last six overs and still only gone for eight or nine runs in their four-over spell. “That was genius bowling at the death there,” said Henriques.
