David Warner has led SunRisers Hyderabad from the front in last few editions baring 2018 when he was banned for a year for ball tempering allegations for the Australian team.
He scored more than 500 runs since IPL 2014. He enjoyed the support of his players surrounding him as SunRisers Hyderabad have been consistently performing their best and trying to shed their underdogs’ tag every time in IPL.

SunRisers Hyderabad have been one of the most consistent teams in the Indian Premier League. They have reached the playoffs in all of the last five editions of IPL besides winning IPL trophy once in 2016 and being runners up in 2018. In IPL 2020 also, it looked like SRH could not reach playoffs but came back for contention in the top-four finish after winning their last few games. The team emerged as the third-best team in IPL13 after winning Eliminator but losing in Qualifier 2 to runners-up Delhi.
David Warner who captained in 62 IPL matches saw SRH winning 34 and losing 27 with a win percentage of 55. He has been the skipper of the side for four of the last six editions, and that saw an upsurge in performance as well as the team returning to winning habits.
David Warner was recently asked to name his favourite teammate in the IPL 2020. Although, he didn’t specify a favourite player but said that he really likes Indian youngster Priyam Garg as he makes the dressing room positive with his attitude.
“A lot of fans have asked me who was my favourite in our team this year? I don’t have any as all my team mates are my favourites but this bloke @garg_priyam is a very funny boy he made us laugh very much and what a talent he is. #cricket #talent,” the Australian opener wrote on Instagram.
Priyam Garg though didn’t live up to expectations as he scored only 133 runs in 14 games averaging 14.77 with one fifty- the highest being 51 not out.
David Warner To Be Rested From ODI, T20I Series After Suffering Groin Injury
David Warner was recently in highlight as he was ruled out of the ongoing limited-overs series against India after being injured in 2nd ODI and will be in a race to be fit for the first Test beginning from December 17th in Adelaide.
Cricket Australia said in a statement that the dashing opener, who had suffered a groin injury during the 2nd ODI while trying to save runs while fielding against India in Sydney on Sunday, will be rested from the remaining ODI and 3 T20Is so that he can regain match fitness for the upcoming four-match Border Gavaskar 4 match Test series against India.
David Warner suffered the injury during a fielding mishap in the match while trying to save a ball struck by Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan towards the mid-off in the 4th over of India’s innings. David Warner dived in order to stop the ball, but immediately after he attempted the dive, he looked in sheer pain and discomfort.
