Indian pacer Deepak Chahar is currently in a destructive form with the ball in hand. While Chahar recorded the best bowling figures in T20I history last Sunday (10th November), including a hat-trick, he claimed another three wickets in three consecutive legal deliveries in less than 48 hours.
On Tuesday (12th November) afternoon, Deepak Chahar was leading his domestic team Rajasthan in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2019/20. It was the Group B match between Rajasthan and Vidarbha at Thiruvananthapuram.

After Vidarbha decided to bat first, they were batting on 43/1 in seven overs when rain interrupted that game. Later, it became the 13-overs match.
Deepak Chahar took four wickets in an over, three in successive legal deliveries, but his team lost by just one run
At the very final moment of that innings, Deepak Chahar took three wickets in three straight legal deliveries. In the final three legal balls of that 13-over innings, Chahar successively dismissed Darshan Nalkande (0), Shrikant Wagh (13) and Akshay Wadkar (0). While Nalkande and Wagh lost their wickets through the caught out, Wadkar was bowled. However, Chahar conceded a wide ball before dismissing Akshay Wadkar. Though Chahar took three wickets in three successive legal deliveries, it was actually his three wickets in four balls.
In fact, Deepak Chahar bagged four wickets in that 13th over. On the first ball of that over, Chahar dismissed Rushabh Rathod (3) after his cousin brother Rahul Chahar successfully took a catch. Deepak Chahar finished that innings with the bowling figures of 3-0-18-4 as Vidarbha were restricted to 99/9.
However, Deepak Chahar-led team Rajasthan just failed to win that game. They had to chase the revised target of 107 runs in 13 overs. But Rajasthan managed to score 105/8 in 13 overs. As a result, Rajasthan finally lost that match by one run.
On last Sunday, Deepak Chahar took a hat-trick for India in the series-decider Nagpur T20I against Bangladesh. On that night, Chahar dismissed Shafiul Islam (17.6 overs), Mustafizur Rahman (19.1 overs) and Aminul Islam (19.2 overs) in three successive deliveries. With that hat-trick, Chahar became the first Indian male bowler to claim a T20I hat-trick.
Also, in that same game, Deepak Chahar managed the bowling figures of 3.2-0-7-6 and it is now the best bowling figures in T20I history. His bowling helped India to win that series-decider by 30 runs and clinched that three-match T20I series by leading it 2-1.
Uttarakhand’s Mayank Mishra also claimed a hat-trick in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy
Coming back to the Tuesday’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2019/20, earlier, on the same day, in another game, Uttarakhand left-arm spinner Mayank Mishra claimed a T20 hat-trick. It was their Group A match against Goa where Mishra had the bowling figures of 4-0-6-4. In the third over of the first innings of that game, Mishra put his name in the hat-trick book. His bowling helped Uttarakhand to restrict Goa to just 119/9 (20 overs). Uttarakhand chased down that target in 16.4 overs after losing two wickets.
