The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association has agreed to host three IPL 2016 matches. Dharamsala will host three home games of Kings XI Punjab. HPCA has decided after the Bombay High Court ordered the BCCI to shift IPL matches from drought-hit Maharashtra.

Kings XI Punjab were scheduled to play three matches in Nagpur in May. Thirteen matches were affected after the Bombay High Court said no matches will be held in Mumbai, Pune and Nagpur after April 30 due to acute water shortage.

Dharamsala has hosted Kings XI Punjab matches before. It was also a venue for ICC World T20 and made headlines when it lost the India versus Pakistan match due to security reasons.
