Former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria has fired a warning to India batting superstar Virat Kohli ahead of the ICC World Test Championship final. India will take on Australia in the upcoming final, scheduled to take place in June at the Oval in England.

Team India will be desperate to be on the winning side of the upcoming WTC final after losing the previous one against New Zealand. And one of the players who could turn the match in India’s favour is definitely Virat Kohli.

The former India skipper recently ended his long century drought in Tests with a fine knock of 186 against Australia in the fourth Test at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. It was his first century in Tests since the one against Bangladesh at the Eden Gardens Test in November 2019.

Danish Kaneria’s warning for Virat Kohli:

While Virat Kohli will be keen to guide India to an ICC title by helping them win the ICC WTC final, Danish Kaneria has fired a timely reminder to the India star. The former Pakistan spinner has stated that Kohli will need to practice to face Australia pacer Mitchell Starc in the big clash.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, the ex-leg spinner pointed out Kohli’s known struggle against left-arm fast-bowlers. Kaneria stated that Kohli isn’t comfortable when left-arm pacers nip the ball back and advised him to practice to face Starc in a couple of months.

“Virat Kohli isn’t comfortable against left-arm pacers when the ball nips back. He will have to practice to face Mitchell Starc in the World Test Championship final. The team management should bring in left-arm pacers like T Natarajan as net bowlers,” said Kaneria.

Speaking further, Kaneria praised KL Rahul for his match-winning fifty against Australia in the first ODI. The right-handed batsman scored 75 not out as India recovered from 83 for 5 to chase down 189 and take the lead in the three-match series.

“KL Rahul has dealt a major setback. He knows that he will have to deliver now and have to be very sensible. Dropping someone is never the solution. You need to fix the problems. He looked very composed today and the Australian bowlers couldn’t hit his pads as he was getting behind the line of the ball,” Kaneria added.
