Former Indian Cricketer Manoj Prabhakar Accused For Cheating; Delhi Police Registers The Case 1

Former Indian cricketer Manoj Prabhakar has been alleged for cheating and trespassing. Delhi police have started an investigation as a woman living in London has accused Prabhakar, his wife, son and two others on Thursday, an official said.

Sandhya Sharma Pandit, who lives in London, has registered a complaint that Prabhakar has brought his friends to live in her flat. She owns the flat on the second floor of an apartment in Sarvapriya Vihar in South Delhi. Prabhakar lives on the first floor in the building which the lady lives.

In the complaint, the lady said that her husband bought that flat from the builder in 1996. They lived in the flat till 2006 before they shifted to London. Then, the flat was used by some relatives until 2018 after which the flat was locked and nobody lived there.

The police officer said that the woman was informed by neighbours that the flat was used by some unknown peoples. In September, she came to Delhi and tried to enter the flat. However, the occupant denied entry to her.

“The woman claimed that when she tried to raise the issue, she was threatened with dire consequences. She claimed that her flat was encroached upon by Prabhakar and others on the basis of forged documents,” said the officer.

In the initial investigation, police said that Manoj Goyal, who is a property dealer, has been found accused as he prepared forged papers and helped Prabhakar to occupy the flat.

“After going through the initial investigation, a case has been registered at Malviya Nagar police station. We will call Prabhakar for questioning,” said a police officer.

Prabhakar, who is living for 23 years in the building, has denied any such allegations by the woman.
