With 2018 all set to end in few hours, the cricketing world is busy recalling the fond moments of the soon-to-end year. 2018 witnessed some memorable games and individual performances.
The year started with a blockbuster ODI series between New Zealand and Pakistan. But contrary to the popular speculations, the reigning Champions Trophy holders completely failed to compete in tough conditions as New Zealand swept the series 5-0.
Few days later, South Africa hosted India in a six-match ODI series. And that series also panned out in an unexpected manner. India thoroughly dominated the contest to win the series 5-1. As the year progressed, we saw some absolute gems in the 50-over format. Scotland beating world number England for the first time in their history, Afghanistan nearly pulling off a stunning win over India, the thrilling Asia Cup final, England slamming a record 481 against Australia were some of the most memorable games of the year.
2018 also witnessed some breathtaking individual performances. The likes of Virat Kohli, Fakhar Zaman, Alex Hales played some stunning innings with the bat while the likes of Kuldeep Yadav, Rashid Khan and many others came up with some commendable efforts with the ball.
And with the year all set to end now, Cricket Australia have revealed their playing eleven. The list contains four players from India, three from India and one each from Windies, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Bangladesh. Surprisingly, there was not a single player from Australia as well as South Africa and New Zealand.
