CAC Members Anshuman Gaekwad And Shantha Rangaswamy Vindicated From Conflict Of Interest Charges 1

Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) members Anshuman Gaekwad, and Shantha Rangaswamy have been cleared from the conflict of interest charges by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) ethic officer DK Jain.

Jain has labelled the case upon the two as “infructuous”, but the case involving Kapil Dev has still not been decided. Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) life member Sanjeev Gupta filed the complaint against Kapil Dev-led CAC for donning more than one cricketing role which is against the board’s constitution.

All the three members Kapil Dev, Anshuman Gaekwad, and Shantha Rangaswamy had already resigned from the post after re-electing Ravi Shastri as the head coach of the Indian National cricket team. However, Gaekwad and Rangaswamy have been freed from the charges, but Kapil Dev is yet to get the clearance, DK Jain Said.

“Since they (Gaekwad, Rangaswamy) have resigned from their respective posts, the complaint has been disposed of. In Kapil’s case, the complainant needed more time to file an application, I have given him that,” Jain told PTI on Sunday.

World Cup-winning captain Kapil Dev had earlier made it clear that conflict of interest should not be applicable to those who are not being paid for their services.

What is the Conflict of Interest?

According to BCCI, no one can occupy more than one post at the same time, which is under the clause of conflict of interest. This rule has brought Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, and even Sourav Ganguly under the scanner.

Recently, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has said that he will surely take some steps against this rule because of which the legendary cricketers like Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid are not able to give their inputs in Indian cricket.
