The 27-year-old, whose last appearance for the Three Lions came against Bangladesh last year, has played 21 Tests so far, scoring 1413 runs at an average of close to 40. The left-handed batsman grabbed the headlines after scoring two centuries in successive Tests against India, at Lord’s and Southampton in 2014 when England were desperately looking to find a suitable replacement for Jonathon Trott.
He was appointed as the Yorkshire captain across all formats in December 2016 after Andrew Gale retired to become head coach. He joined Yorkshire from Derbyshire in 2007 and helped them clinch back-to-back County Championship titles in 2014 and 2015.
