Harbhajan Singh Feels Great On Abhinandan Varthaman’s Release News

Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has recently announced that they will release IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman on Friday (1 March). Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh feels great on that news.

Since the Pulwama terror attack, the political tension between India and Pakistan have raised on high. On 14 February, a suicide bomber attacked with an explosive-laden vehicle into a CRPF bus in Pulwama district (Jammu and Kashmir). More than 40 soldiers have lost their lives, and many are critically injured. The Pakistan-based terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) carried out that attack.

The whole world has condemned on that coward incident. Entire Indian cricket family have also cried out over that incident and came out to support the Indian soldiers. That Pulwama terror attack incident has hugely affected the India-Pakistan relations in every aspect, including the cricket relation too.

Later, on 26 February, the Indian Air Force (IAF) carried an air strike over Balakot (POK). They bombed on JeM’s camps and destroyed those camps.

Later, Pakistan arrested the IAF Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman. At present, he is under the Pakistan army’s custody. However, the former Pakistan World Cup-winning captain and the present Pakistan PM Imran Khan has announced to release the IAF officer on Friday as a peace gesture.

The Pakistan PM said on Thursday (28 February), “We have an Indian pilot. As a peace gesture, we will release him tomorrow.”

Harbhajan Singh reacted on this news

The senior Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has responded on this latest news on Abhinandan Varthaman. He feels that it is great news for the nation.

Harbhajan Singh tweeted, “Great News- @ImranKhanPTI says the Indian Pilot #AbhiNandan will be released tomorrow as a “goodwill gesture”.”

Like the other Indians, Harbhajan Singh also felt heartbroken on the Pulwama terror attack incident. In that situation, he felt that India shouldn’t play against Pakistan in the upcoming World Cup. The senior Indian off-spinner believes that India is powerful enough to win the World Cup, even after not playing against Pakistan in the group stages.

England and Wales will host the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup from 30 May to 14 July. India and Pakistan will meet in this upcoming World Cup on 16 June at Manchester. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is waiting for the government judgment to make the final call on that match.

Meanwhile, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has recently revealed that the India-Pakistan match in the upcoming World Cup was high in demand. While they are monitoring the present situation, they are also confident about that game.
