ICC World Cup 2015 was the 11th edition of the tournament and was jointly hosted by Australia and New Zealand. Australia came out as the victorious in the tournament in the world cup registering the first win in their soil.

In the grand finale against New Zealand, the Australian team led by Michael Clarke registered the victory by seven wickets. The Kiwis had given the low target of 183 runs to the strong Australian side. They were unsuccessful in defending their target as Michael Clarke and Steve Smith scored half-centuries to guide the team to lift the fifth World Cup title.

During the tournament, several records were build up by batsmen and bowlers. Here, in this article, we have mentioned the five batsmen who were the highest scorer in the ICC World Cup 2015.

New Zealand’s attacking batsman Martin Guptill is the only Kiwi to score a double century in ODIs. In fact, he achieved this feat during the World Cup 2015 against West Indies in the Quarter-final. Guptill is difficult to tackle once he sets up himself in the field. His ability to hit hard and power up the innings makes him the special player in the New Zealand team.

The opening batsman was the highest scorer for his side as well as in the World Cup 2015. He scored 547 runs in five matches at an average of 68.37 with a striking rate of 104.58. His run tally also includes two centuries. However, his efforts could not lead the Kiwis to lift the trophy.
