The International Cricket Council, on Monday, charged three Hong Kong players with 19 counts of breaching the ICC Anti-Corruption Code. The three players are Irfan Ahmed, Nadeem Ahmed and Haseeb Amjad.
Irfan is facing nine charges while the other two are facing five charges each. Consequently, the trio has been provisionally suspended with immediate effect pending determination of these charges.

Irfan finds himself guilty of breaching Article 2.1.1, 2.4.2 and 2.1.2 of the 2012 code as well as 2.1.3 and 2.4.4 of the 2014 code. Nadeem has been found to have violated 2.1.1 and 2.4.2 of the 2012 code alongside 2.1.3 of the 2014 code. Haseeb has been charged with 2.1.1, 2.1.3 and 2.4.2 of the 2012 code.
The allegations are related to “fixing or contriving or otherwise influencing improperly, or being a party to an effort to fix or contrive or otherwise influence improperly, the result, progress, conduct” of matches.
And also the “failure to disclose full details of any approaches or invitations received to engage in conduct that would amount to a breach of the 2012 Code”.

Meanwhile, this is not the first time Irfan has found himself in such a situation. In April 2016, he was suspended by the ICC for admitting breaches of the Anti-Corruption Code.
The governing body has given the players a period of two weeks to respond to the allegations. The grace period for the three players to reply to the allegations begin on October 8.

Irfan last played an international game in 2015 during the T20I against Scotland. Nadeem Ahmed, on the other hand, recently played in the Asia Cup while Haseeb Amjad last played an international game in 2016.
