ICC U-19 World Cup 2018: Twitter Erupts as India Registers 2nd Win of the Tournament

Riding on Anukul Roy’s maiden five-wicket haul and Prithvi Shaw’s blistering half-century, India thrashed Papua New Guinea by ten wickets on Tuesday (January 16) and move to the top of Group B.
It was a clinical performance by the Indian colts right from the time Shaw won the toss and elected to field first till the skipper hit the winning boundary. Fresh from the thumping 100-run win over Australia in the opening game, India did not take long to make inroads against PNG.
Shivam Mavi gave India a flying start by dismissingย Igo Mahuru when the scoreboard was reading just 13. It was followed by another 13-run stand between Simon Atai and Heagi Toua before Mavi dismissed the latter for a duck and opened the floodgates.
PNG kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and crossed the 50-run mark by losing four wickets. But then a spectacular collapse saw them losing their last sixย wickets for just three runs, as from 61 for four they were all out for 64. Ovia Sam top-scored for them with 15, as only three of their players, managed to cross the double-digit mark while five failed even to open their accounts. Anukul Roy starred with the ball for India, picking up for five for just 14 while Mavi picked up a couple.
In reply, India chased down the total on the last ball of the eighth over without losing any wicket. Shaw, who had scored 94 in the first game, did the bulk of scoring while his partner Manjot Kalra played the role of second fiddle. Shaw scored 57 off the 67 runs scored while Kalra scored nine. Shaw’s knock was studded with 12 fours.
Here is how Twitter reacted to the clinical display from the Indian colts:
Prithvi Shaw…why is that kid bullying other kids?
Amazing talent.#U19CWC #INDvPNG— Litesh Gawande (@liteshgawande) January 16, 2018
From 61-4 to 64 all out. Even though the opposition is PNG, really like the ruthlessness of this side. #U19CWC #INDvPNG

Having a strong feeling that lots of players from this Under 19 cricket team will go on to become the Superstars of the Senior Indian Cricket Team similar to Virat Kohli's Team. #under19worldcup #INDvPNG

Prithvi Shaw hammers unbeaten half century. My worry is when he toys with bowling he is ignoring certain basics which will become technical issues later.
