ICC World Cup 2019: Rohit Sharma’s 104 Helps India To 314, Twitter Reacts
Jul 3, 2019 at 12:21 PM
Once again, it was Rohit Sharma, who stood in the middle for the Indian team. The stunning century from the India vice-captain and the half-century by KL Rahul followed by the superb finish from Mahendra Singh Dhoni helped Indian team to post a massive tally on the board.
Earlier, in the day, it was the Indian skipper Virat Kohli, who won the toss and elected to bat first. Justifying the toss, the openers KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma knocked Bangladesh bowlers to all corners of the park.
Rohit Sharma knocks 104, Mustafizur Rahman pulls it back:
In particular, it was Rohit Sharma, who showed his class in the middle. He kept Bangladesh fielders chasing the leather more often not with his classic strokes. During the course, he brought his 4th century of the tournament, which is the most for any Indian cricketer in a single edition.
Just after smashing a stunning century, he went against Soumya Sarkar but failed to clear the field, as he was caught at covers. He was quickly followed by KL Rahul, who edged Rubel Hossain to Mushfiqur Rahman.
However, Rishabh Pant and Virat Kohli ensured that there was no drop in the run rate. Rishabh Pant was at his best while the Indian skipper pulled straight to Rubel Hossain off Mustifizur Rahman. He was quickly followed by Hardik Pandya in the same over to register a duck.
Rishabh Pant’s dismissal to Shakib Al Hasan completely changed the complexion of the game. However, MS Dhoni ensured India reached a decent total on the board.
For Bangladesh, Mustafizur Rahman was the picker of the wickets. He gave those much-needed breakthroughs for the Bangladesh tea

Afraid India haven't got the finish they wanted, they needed. Good score. But toe in the door for Bangladesh

India's batting is a few drunk uncles creating ruckus in a wedding, being handled by the responsible young bowlers in the family.

Indians get disappointed when Rohit gets out after scoring a century. They expect more. What a stature Rohit has. Truly a Sharmaji ka ladka. #IndvBan

The one distinct change I see in Rohit sharma lately is the maturity. Until 2016 his conversion of 50s to 100s was 22.8%. Since then its skyrocketed to 54%.👏👏👏🙏🙏🙏#CWCUP2019

Mustafizur and Shakib were really superb at the end for Bangladesh. Looked like India will get close to 350 but Bangladesh executed their plans superbly in the end.#INDvBAN
