ICC World Cup 2019: Shoaib Akhtar Picks His Playing XI For The Game Against England

It was one of the nightmares of starts for Pakistan in the ICC World Cup 2019. They were completely outsmarted by Windies team in the opening game, which not only dented a couple of points but also made a massive effect on their net run rate as well. Meanwhile, the former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar named his playing XI for the second clash against England.
In the first game, the spell of Andre Russell took away the game from Pakistan, as he bagged the wickets of Haris Sohail and Fakhar Zaman in quick succession. The spell changed the complexion of the game, as Pakistan never looked like coming into the game.
Following the spell, Jason Holder and Oshane Thomas have wreaked havoc with their fine spells. They made the mockery of Pakistan attack, which saw them being bundled out for just 105 runs on the board.
In reply to the chase, Chris Gayle started things off in a style while the likes of Nicholas Pooran and Shimron Hetmyer shouldered Windies to the victory ropes.
Shoaib Malik gets the nod:
Coming back to the topic, the fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar revealed his playing XI by naming quite a few changes to the side that played against the Windies team. He dropped Haris Sohail, Wahab Riaz, Hassan Ali and asked Shoaib Malik, Asif Ali and Shaheen Shah Afridi to make a return.
Surprisingly, he picked only two fast bowlers despite the English tracks offering assistance to the quicks. However, the track, which is set to be used for the match is going to be a batting paradise.
