Once again, it was Ravindra Jadeja, who did the trick for the Indian National Cricket Team in the field. No matter whether he is in the playing XI or not, the stylish southpaw makes sure that his presence will be felt by the audience. Once again, he pulled out a stunner in the deep to give India their first breakthrough.
In the ongoing match between India and England at the Edgbaston in Birmingham, the hosts were off to a superb start after electing to bat first. Openers Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow took England off to a flyer as they tormented the Indian bowling attack right from the start.
Jason Roy dismissed for 66:
As India was desperately looking to break the dangerous partnership, Ravindra Jadeja took a stunning catch to get rid of Jason Roy in the first ball of Kuldeep Yadav’s fifth over. Jadeja was on the filed as a substitute for KL Rahul who got injured while fielding at the boundary line.
Initially, it was Eoin Morgan, who won the toss, elected to bat first in a pressure game. Justifying the decision of the toss, Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow showed their class by smashing Indian bowlers to all corners of the park before Ravindra Jadeja putting a sensational effort.
The wicket certainly pulled India back into the game as Jonny Bairstow and Eoin Morgan walked back to the hut in quick succession. It was Mohammed Shami, who delivered the goods for the Indian team in the middle overs.
Once again, it was Joe Root and Ben Stokes in the middle overs, who got the burden on their shoulders to post a big total on the board. Most Probably, India would be happy to chase anything between 300-330, as England look threatening to post over 400 at one stage.
