Indian speedster Mohammad Shami believes the Indian team does not allow the conditions to dictate their performances as he believes the Indian team is capable to play under any conditions in the world. Mohammed Shami made life tough for the Australian batters in the 1st ODI picking up three wickets.
After the match, Mohammed Shami was asked at a press conference, about white-ball cricket favoured the batter as the flat pitches were produced and offered less help for the bowlers. Speaking about the format favouring the batters with scores over 300 runs produced at ease, Shami said they are a few things against the bowlers in white ball cricket, but its India team is capable of playing in any conditions.
“There are a lot of add-ons in white-ball cricket. You get a free hit for a no-ball and then you can’t get out too. There are things against the bowlers. It changes according to the format. But as far as our team is concerned, it doesn’t matter whether we are playing at home or abroad. I don’t think there is any question mark on the Indian team,” Mohammad Shami said to the media.

Mohammad Shami believes this Indian Team is always ahead of other teams in any condition, stating India’s win record in home condition and overseas conditions. India remains unbeaten in ODI’s 2023.
“We are ahead of every team irrespective of the conditions. We have shown it in the past too. We have beaten them in their backyard so there is no question of worrying when we are playing at home,” Shami told reporters.
2023 will be an important year for ODI formats as the ODI world cup is scheduled later this year. England will look to defend their title in India and on the other hand, India will look to end its ICC trophy drought on home soil after failing to win a single title in 10 long years.
We Support Each Other A Great Deal – Mohammad Shami
Indian pacer Mohammad Shami praised his bowling partner Mohammed Siraj for exceptional bowling in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah. Speaking on Siraj’s rise in International cricket Shami said the 29-year-old has a lot of confidence in bowling and asserted the importance of bowling in pairs.
“It has been a long time since Bumrah has not been playing. It is our hard luck that he is not there. But we have a very good overall bowling unit for both white and red balls. We support each other a great deal,” Mohammad Shami said.
On chasing a total of 189 runs, India made a disastrous start following a fiery spell from Mitchell Starc picking up three important wickets including Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, and Surya Kumar Yadav. KL Rahul and the comeback of Ravindra Jadeja stitched an unbeaten stand of 108 runs to take India to victory in the 1st ODI against Australia.
