It was a spectacular comeback by England bowlers in the last session of Day 2 of the Mohali Test when they scalped four quick wickets in a span of three overs, but Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja then steadied the ship as India held a slight advantage at stumps.
The duo, who wounded England bowlers, continued their form on Monday as they went on to add 30 runs before Ashwin was lured in to a drive by Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler did the rest at the point. Jayant Yadav, who is considered more of an off-spinner, showed his talent and set a platform of perfect toil for England bowlers in 19 overs bowled after Ashwin’s dismissal in the first session.
In total, Indian team scored 83 runs in 30 overs in the morning session.
Both Jadeja and Jayant will look to continue to frustrate England and extend India’s lead past 150.
Meanwhile, the fans witnessed a brilliant moment when Ravindra Jadeja, who was born in city of Rajput, once again showed his sword skills when he reached his half-century:
