India vs NZ 2017: “Credit to Virat and team, they were the better team; just.”- Kane Williamson

India defeated New Zealand by six runs in the third ODI to clinch the series 2-1 in a match which was a high scoring thriller.
New Zealand won the toss and chose to bowl first as India finished their innings at 337/6 in their 50 overs. Rohit Sharma scored another brilliant century as he scored 147 off 138 deliveries. India’s skipper Virat Kohli scored his 32nd century and his second of the series. Kohli scored 113 off 106 balls and was involved in a 230 runs partnership with Rohit Sharma. Adam Milne was the pick of the bowlers for New Zealand as he picked up two wickets for 64 runs in his ten overs.
Tim Southee also picked up two wickets for 66 runs in his quota of 10 overs.
New Zealand started well as Colin Munro scored 75 off 62 runs. New Zealand had a fiery start to their innings as Colin Munro got 19 runs in the first over of the innings of Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Kane Williamson also got back among runs, as he scored 64 off 84 balls. Tom Latham continued his rich vein of form in the series as he scored 65 off 52 deliveries but was run out trying to keep the strike in the end overs.
Jasprit Bumrah and Yuzvendra Chahal got India out of trouble as the duo gave away 47 runs in their quota of 10 overs. Bumrah picked up three wickets whereas Chahal picked up two wickets.

“Fantastic series. Some really good cricket played and great spirit. Credit to Virat and team, they were the better team, just. Lots of promising signs for us. The surfaces were good throughout. That’s the nature of the sport, but you do need to be at your best to beat such sides. Tom Latham batted with such clarity in his mind, it was great to watch. Also Henry Nicholls. Bowlers stuck it out as well. They performed well most games.”
