India Vs Bangladesh 2019/20: Second Test - Toss Report 1

The historic moment has finally come in Indian cricket as well as in Bangladesh cricket. Bangladesh won the toss and decided to bat first.

On Friday (22nd November) afternoon, India and Bangladesh have started their first-ever day/night pink-ball Test match at Eden Gardens (Kolkata). It is the second and final Test match of this two-match Test series between the hosts India and the visitors Bangladesh.

At 12:30 PM local time, the Indian captain Virat Kohli and the Bangladesh captain Mominul Haque attended centre of the ground for the toss of this historic Test match. The toss was conducted with the ceremonial gold coin.

Bangladesh captain called “Head” at the toss and they won the toss. The visiting captain didn’t hesitate to choose bat first.

Mominul Haque said after winning the toss, “We will bat first, the wicket is dry and hard, so that’s why we want to bat first. It’s a brave decision we feel. It’s a great opportunity for everyone. Two changes for us. Al-Amin Hossain comes in place of Taijul Islam and Nayeem Hasanin for Mehidy Hasan.”

Indian captain Virat Kohli’s comments

On the other hand, Indian captain Virat Kohli said, “We would have batted first as well. Decent grass cover on it, but it’s a hard pitch. With the pink ball there will be something for the first 15 overs. This is another opportunity for us to come and execute our skills. The challenge is to adapt quick to the ball. It travels fast and it’s difficult to control. We are fulfilling a responsibility of debuting with the pink ball. We have the same team from the first Test.”

The hosts totally dominated in that game and won that match by an innings and 130 runs. The hosts will try to maintain this excellent form while Bangladesh will try to stun everyone in this special Test.
