There are all kinds of speculations going on for the high voltage clash between India and Pakistan in the upcoming ICC World Cup. After a brutal attack on CRPF jawans, which took the lives of 44 soldiers, there are talks that India could boycott Pakistan. In fact, former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh and IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla have said that India should play put the country before the sport.
Every point matters a lot in the big event like the World Cup. Thus, India won’t be willing to give away their points, which could hamper their progress. In fact, India will not lose points even if they go on boycott Pakistan in the World Cup. The Board of Control for Cricket in India is set to sign the Members Participation Agreement.

World Cup without India-Pakistan encounter will be dull.
A Special General Meeting of the Indian board had taken place on 22 June 2018. Consequently, India can decide whether it wants to play Pakistan in the mega event.
“The BCCI had resolved at the Special General Meeting that the members participation agreement shall not be executed without the authorisation of the general body of the BCCI and the BCCI reserves all its rights regarding the MPA and regarding its participation in any other multi-nation tournament or games not covered by the MPA. That answers your question,” BCCI treasurer Anirudh Chaudhry said while speaking to Hindustan Times.
It is a big step.
Meanwhile, BCCI is mulling to boycott Pakistan in the World Cup. In fact, the latest reports suggest that the Indian board will request the ICC to ban Pakistan from World Cup. Subsequently, things will get clear after the International Cricket Council rendezvous in Dubai which will take place later this year.
On the other hand, India has an amicable record while facing Pakistan in the World Cup. The Men in Blue have always beaten their arch-rivals in the quadrennial event. In fact, former legendary Indian batsman Sunil Gavaskar believes it is better to beat Pakistan in the World Cup than to boycott them.
