Team India skipper Virat Kohli announced his return after a short break with a scintillating hundred on day two of the second Test against Windies.

Meanwhile, India consolidated their position as Kohli, and Rishabh Pant batted fearlessly in the morning session. While Kohli was a bit cautious, Pant went all guns blazing. He took the attack to the opposition smashing boundaries at regular intervals.

On the other hand, Virat Kohli, who started his day at 72, slowly and steadily approached towards his hundred. He continued his brilliant run of form as he scored a brilliant century on day two. The Indian cricket team skipper reached the milestone thanks to seven boundaries and in the process, he also the 11th Indian cricketer to complete 3000 runs at home.

Kohli, who scored his 11th Test hundred in India and 8th as captain at home, was also the second fastest to 24 Test centuries after Don Bradman (66) as the Indian cricket team skipper took 123 innings to reach the milestone.

This was also the 2nd Test century for Kohli against Windies and both came as captain. He has the joint 2nd most centuries against them as captain along with Dilip Vengsarkar. However, the record remains with Sunil Gavaskar (4).

Just after Virat Kohli reached his 24th Tests ton, Pant tried to score fast to reach his hundred. However, in doing so, he departed eight short of his hundred to Devendra Bishoo.

India, meanwhile, looks in line to post a huge total with Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja still in the crease.
