Renowned Windies cricketer-turned-commentator Ian Bishop conceded that India had done exceedingly well in the Test set-up when it comes to alien conditions. He also added this as the main point that host would find it challenging to take Virat Kohli’s India in the two-match Test series.

Bishop, who will render his services to broadcasting giant Sony Sports Network during the impending series, believes Kohli has played a quintessential role in shaping up the team.

Meanwhile, the No.1 Test team will start their campaign to ICC World Test Championship when they face the Caribbean team on August 22nd at Antigua.

Besides, the series will kick-off with the first of three-match T20Is on August 3 at Lauderhill in Florida.

Since 2017, India has been exemplary while donning the whites. In 2018, India record first-ever Test series victory in Australia after doing well against England. Despite losing the series 4-1, the series was closely fought with India spilling a couple of chances on the English soil.

The 51-year-old Bishop had heaped praise on India’s team for their better show in the recent past. He believes India has become one of the best sides when it comes to touring to other countries.

“India know their home conditions so well. India have become the powerhouse that has played better overseas in recent years. They were very competitive in England last summer, defeated Australia in Australia last year for the first time. No doubt Australia were without their two key players but that just says India were traveling better,” Bishop told IANS.

However, he believes Windies could control things if their batters would score tons. He also remarked that they need to go according to a plan against ace bowler Jasprit Bumrah apart from lanky pacer, Ishant Sharma.

So, we need to start and set down marks on scoring hundreds’,” Bishop concluded.

Bishop, who has a wealth of experience, further remarked that hosts had to tick all the boxes to get better of the d’s premium Test team.
