India Vs Windies 2019/20: First T20I – Stats Preview

On Friday (6th December), the hosts India and the visiting side Windies will face each other in the opening game of the three-match T20I series at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium (Uppal, Hyderabad).
Earlier, during India tour of the United States and West Indies in last August, India completed the whitewash in the three-match T20I series against Windies (won by 3-0).

i) Rohit Sharma (399 sixes) needs to hit one more six to complete his 400 international sixes. After Chris Gayle (534 sixes) and Shahid Afridi (476 sixes), Rohit Sharma will become the third batsman to hit at least 400 international sixes.
ii) Virat Kohli (58 sixes) needs to hit one more six to become India’s third most T20I six-hitter after surpassing Suresh Raina (58 T20I sixes). Only Rohit Sharma (115 sixes) and Yuvraj Singh (74 sixes) will remain ahead of Kohli in this list.
iii) Virat Kohli (199 sixes) is one six away to complete his 200 international sixes. He will be the seventh Indian batsman to hit 200 international sixes.
iv) KL Rahul has scored 974 runs in 28 T20I innings. If Rahul scores 26 more runs in the next T20I innings, he will be the second-fastest Indian (Virat Kohli scored 1,000 T20I runs in 27 innings) and joint third fastest overall batsman to score 1,000 T20I runs (Australian Aaron Finch completed 1,000 T20I runs in 29 innings). Pakistan batsman Babar Azam is holding the record of fastest 1,000 T20I runs (in 26 T20I innings).
v) The leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal (50 wickets) is three wickets behind to become the leading T20I wicket-taker for India. In this list, he is currently behind of Ravichandran Ashwin (52 wickets) and Jasprit Bumrah (51 wickets).
Windies cricketers’ stats
i) Kieron Pollard (953 runs) is 47 runs behind and Lendl Simmons (914 runs) in 86 runs away to complete their 1,000 T20I runs for Windies. Till the date, Chris Gayle (1,627 runs), Marlon Samuels (1,611 runs) and Dwayne Bravo (1,142 runs) have scored 1,000+ T20I runs for Windies.
