In the cricket world, while the Indian national cricket team is one of the top sides, the Indian cricketers always become part of the crucial talking points. For most of the times, their performances set their image in global cricket.
As the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is now one of the richest cricket boards, the Indian cricketers’ salaries are also very attractive.
Moreover, the successful Indian Premier League (IPL) helps the Indian cricket in both ways – provides the proper challenging path for the players and also brings a good amount of salary.
But unlike many other national cricket boards, the BCCI doesn’t allow their players to participate in the foreign T20 leagues. While some Indian cricketers want to experience the foreign leagues, it is not possible for them at present unless they retire from Indian cricket.
Here we are talking about three Indian cricketers who may retire soon to feature in the foreign leagues:
Manoj Tiwary
The 34-year-old Indian cricketer Manoj Tiwary played 12 ODIs and three T20Is for the Indian team from 2008 to 2015. He made some useful contribution as a batsman and fielder but didn’t get enough consistent chances to properly open up himself.
However, Manoj is a crucial member of the Bengal cricket team in each format for a long time. His batting average in the first-class cricket is over 50 (50.36), while he has the List A batting average of 42.37 and T20 batting average of 28.92. He is also a useful leg-spinner. Manoj handled the captaincy role of the Bengal team for a long time, but he stepped down from that role before the beginning of 2019/20 domestic season.
After the IPL 2018, Manoj has always remained unsold in the last two IPL auctions. Though he is still trying hard, who also hit a triple-century in the last Ranji Trophy season (2019/20), it seems very tough for him to control the overall situation.
While Manoj still can provide useful performances, he can later decide to experience the foreign leagues. But then, he has to take early retirement from the Indian cricket.
