The ongoing last and final T20I has created a buzz after India’s DRS was denied for the Matthew Wade’s wicket in the first innings in Sydney. Although the on-field umpire had taken the review request, the third umpire didn’t accept the review and DRS was declared null and void.
During the 11th over of the match when T Natarajan hit Matthew Wade on the pad, wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul made a huge appeal for LBW but the on-field umpire Rod Tucker was not convinced. Virat Kohli took a DRS review, which Tucker accepted, but Wade and Glenn Maxwell, who was on the non-striker end, mentioned that the replay of it was already shown on the huge screen in the stadium.
“They referred it off the big screen,” Wade was heard protesting even as Tucker signalled for a review.

Third umpire Paul Wilson too began the process before withdrawing abruptly, hinting that India was late in calling for a review.
The third umpire said: “We can’t go through this review anymore. There are replays on the big screen. This is a null and void review.”
Indian captain Virat Kohli reviewed at 17th second:
But notably, the replay was shown after the 15-second time limit while Kohli took the review at the 17th second after seeing at the giant screen.
After the review was denied, Virat Kohli was seen discussing with the umpire for the clarification.
Had the Team India captain taken the call on time, Matthew Wade would have been given out for LBW. He was on 50 off 35 balls at that stage but went on to make 80 off 53 as Australia ended with 186 for 5.
Apart from him, Glenn Maxwell also scored a half-century but T Natarajan picked his wicket at the right time to halt Australia below 190.
