Indian Premier League (IPL) is one of the very famous tournaments in the cricket world. It is a cash-rich franchise-based professional T20 tournament which is organised by BCCI (Board of Council for Cricket in India) in the every year since 2008.
One of the most interesting parts in the IPL is the Player’s Auction which is held in every year. Before the auction, there is the lowest base price tagged for the each player who participates in that auction. During the auction, every franchise bids on their interested players. At first, the franchises begin from the particular player’s base price and then raise the price till they win the bid.
Raising the money on a particular player shows that how much the franchise has faith on that player. But the ultimate results come out during the IPL when the player has to perform on the ground and produces their exact value. The lower cost per performances of a player actually means that the player is more successful.
Despite it is called that T20 cricket is favourable for the batsmen, but it can’t be denied that a team never get success in a T20 tournament if they don’t have a number of good bowlers. That’s why most no. of bowlers earned higher price in the IPL 2017 Player Auction.
