IPL 2017: Gujarat Lions Owner Delivers Fitness Update On Dwayne Bravo And Ravindra Jadeja 1

Gujarat Lions owner Keshav Bansal has confirmed the team will begin their Indian Premier League campaign without Ravindra Jadeja and Dwayne Bravo.

The West Indies all-rounder is yet to recover from the hamstring injury he sustained in December 2016 while playing in the Big Bash League. The Melbourne Renegades recruit hurt himself while fielding and had to be stretchered off.

He also had a surgery on his left hamstring. Bravo is still on his way to recovery and Bansal said he will join the team in the next seven days.

On the other hand, Jadeja has been advised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to skip the initial phase of the tournament in order to refresh himself after a gruelling home season.

“Bravo had a hamstring injury a couple of months back and he is still recovering. He will be coming to Rajkot in the next seven days and we have deployed a dedicated fitness trainer for his recovery but he will most likely be missing the first leg of the IPL. Ravindra Jadeja has been rested for the first two weeks. He has some concerns about his finger,” Bansal told Sportskeeda.

Gujarat Lions will kick off their 2017 IPL campaign against two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders on April 7th in Rajkot.
