Royal Challengers Bangalore’s makeshift wicketkeeper Kedar Jadhav has proved that playing with a specialist wicketkeeper should be of utmost priority for any team irrespective of the format, as his latest debacle behind the stumps gave Kings XI Punjab batsman Wriddiman Saha an unlikely reprieve.
The incident had happened in the tenth over of the innings bowled by Yuzvendra Chahal. With just 53 runs on the board and both their openers already back in the hut after nine overs, Saha tried to break the shackles by stepping out in an attempt to play a big shot.
However, he completely missed the ball which sneaked through his bat and pad before going straight to the wicketkeeper, who failed to gather the ball cleanly.
But with Saha well out of the crease, Jadhav had a chance to send back him even after missing the first chance. However, Jadhav failed to pick the ball up even on the second attempt, allowing Saha to enter the crease.
