IPL 2017: Watch: Vintage MS Dhoni Blasts Bhuvneshwar Kumar For Two Consecutive Sixes
Rising Pune Supergiant star Mahendra Singh Dhoni has once again showed that he still has a lot of cricket left in him. The former India skipper has been faced harsh criticism for his indifferent performances with the bat in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League but stood tall and delivered for the Supergiant when his team needed him the most in the ongoing match against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The Supergiant, after losing the toss, were asked to bat first by the defending champions and Steve Smith’s men were in all sorts of trouble. After losing their openers with just 39 runs on the board, Ben Stokes and Steve Smith steadied the ship with a 60-run stand. However, neither of the two could up the run-rate as their team was tottering at 100 for the loss of three wickets after the 15th over. Pune’s off-colour innings suffered another setback when their well-set skipper was dismissed in the 16th over.
Dhoni then took the onus on himself to bail his team out of trouble and targeted the 19th over bowled by the in-form Bhuvneshwar Kumar to get some much-needed quick runs for his team. The 35-year old former India skipper clobbered a four and two consecutive sixes as the batting side collected 19 runs off the penultimate over.
The first six came off a pull short when Bhuvneshwar bowled a poor bouncer which deserved the treatment. And even after conceding two boundaries in as many balls, the bowler committed the grave mistake of bowling a fullish delivery outside the off stump, allowing Dhoni to free his arms. And the batsman wasted no time in accepting the gift as he hit a beautiful flat six over extra cover.

He was finally dismissed in the last over after scoring 31 with the help of 2 fours and as many sixes as the visitors collected 32 runs from the last 3 overs to post 148 for 8.
