The 17-year-old mystery spinner from Afghanistan made a terrific impression for the Kings XI Punjab in the opening season in the Indian Premier League. Mujeeb made top-class batsmen look clueless. The delivery with which he castled Virat Kohli in one of the group matches against Royal Challengers Bangalore will definitely be one of the balls of the tournament. When he made his debut for the Kings XI Punjab against the Delhi Daredevils, Mujeeb became the youngest to play in the competition. He also remains the only player born in the 21st century to play international cricket.

It was his injury which eventually proved to be vital as Punjab failed to qualify for the playoffs despite a sensational start to their campaign. He bagged 14 wickets in 11 matches in the tournament at a brilliant average of 20. The spinner also maintained a great economy rate of just 6.99.
