IPL 2018: 52nd Match, DD vs CSK – Delhi Daredevils Predicted XI
Nov 26, 2018 at 12:13 PM
Delhi Daredevils (DD) will be desperate to bring some joy to their fans as they face Chennai Super Kings (CSK), who are at the second spot in the Indian Premier League (IPL) points table on May 18 (Friday) at the Feroz Shah Kotla.
However, Delhi had a poor run this season which saw them getting knocked out after their loss against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH).
The Daredevils have mainly struggled due to their wobbly middle-order and the overseas recruits. The foreigners have failed to create any impact which sums up Delhi’s season.
Meanwhile, the only pop up is of Rishabh Pant, who had an outstanding season. The southpaw backed his brilliant form with a hundred in the last game, but it went in vain.
Also, the likes of Prithvi Shaw and Shreyas Iyer made useful contributions but lacked consistency.
With no hopes left, Delhi will play freely and give their youngsters a good run.
Here is the predicted XI of Delhi Daredevils:
Prithvi Shaw:
The young Prithvi Shaw has made an early mark in his IPL career. He has scored consistently to provide Delhi with a good start.
However, it is a learning curve for the young, and he will grow in confidence.
Jason Roy:
The swashbuckling England batsman Jason Roy has failed to make a mark in whatever opportunities he has got.
However, he has got the ability to smack the ball and provide good starts.
Roy will be desperate to put some run under his belt before leaving India.
Shreyas Iyer:
The young skipper Shreyas Iyer has led the team well, although, the results didn’t come their way.
He also scored runs with the bat consistently and will look to continue the purple patch.
Rishabh Pant:
The young wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant has single-handedly led the Delhi batting unit. He has scored runs consistently and backed it up with an outstanding hundred.
Pant, who has lacked partners at the other end will look to continue his job and help his team post a good total.
Abhishek Sharma:
The young all-rounder, Abhishek Sharma took everybody by surprise with his blistering hitting. However, this a learning curve for the youngster and he will only grow in confidence.
Delhi will want another superlative effort from the young cricketer.
Vijay Shankar:
Vijay Shankar has failed to impress apart from few occasions. He needs to perform to his potential to stay in the good books of the selectors.
Shankar, over the years, has proved his capability in the domestic circuit, however, needs to replicate that at this stage.
Harshal Patel:
The all-rounder Harshal Patel has given his best in the limited opportunities he has got. The Daredevils camp will want him to continue this form in the upcoming games.
He is well capable of contributing with both bat and ball and will be eager to put his A game forward.
Amit Mishra:
The veteran leg-spinner Amit Mishra will have to stand up and do the job for his team.
The Delhi dugout will want Mishra to pick wickets along with restricting the free run flow.
Mishra will be crucial if Delhi intends to make inroads to inform CSK batting.
Sandeep Lamichhane:
The young leg-spinner from Nepal had an impressive debut in this high-intense league. He impressed with his line-length and variation.
Sandeep Lamichhane will look to cash in on the limited opportunities he is getting.
Junior Dala:
Junior Dala impressed one and all during India’s recent tour to South Africa.
Although he didn’t have a good debut in the last game, he will look to make amends and bring some joy to the Delhi fans.
Trent Boult:
Trent Boult has been the only overseas player, who has performed constantly for the Daredevils. He will look to continue the same effort in the remaining games for his franchise.
However, Boult is capable of rattling any order and Delhi Daredevils will want the same kind of effort from him against CSK.
