IPL 2018: 54th Match, SRH vs KKR – Sunrisers Hyderabad Predicted XI
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will be desperate to return to winning ways and spoil Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) party when both the teams will wrestle at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on May 19 (Sunday).
Although Hyderabad have qualified for the playoffs of the eleventh season of Indian Premier League (IPL), they have lost their last two matches.
As a unit. Sunrisers is supposed to give their premium best before they start their playoff campaign.
However, they have had a good stint with every player responding to their responsibilities well. Although Hyderabad-based outfit struggled with their batting at times, they have also notched up big scores.
The Sunrisers need to do their basics right and not be complacent to overcome the losses.
Moreover, Kane Williamson has been instrumental for the team while leading from the front. He has scored runs consistently and will look to continue doing so.
Meanwhile, Bhuvneshwar Kumar is likely to replace Basil Thampi, who had a horrific time in the last game. The seamers have done a good job overall and will look do their job consistently.
Here is the predicted XI of Sunrisers Hyderabad:
Shikhar Dhawan is the key factor in the Sunrisers’ batting unit. He will have to come good in the top-order if Hyderabad would want to score big.
Dhawan got some runs under his belt in the last game and will look to continue that momentum.
The England batsman Alex Hales has shown some early form getting his opportunities in the latter half of the tournament.
Meanwhile, Hales is capable of playing the long handle and destroy any bowling attack.
SRH will want a superlative effort from him, who recently dumped Test cricket to concentrate on the limited-overs format.
Kane Williamson (c):
Kane Williamson has led the team from the front so far in the tournament. He has scored runs in almost all the games and will look to continue doing so.
His form with the bat will be crucial for SRH’s success as the league nears its business end.
Manish Pandey had a very average journey so far in the ongoing competition, although, he has come good in bits and pieces. He needs to take the onus on himself and do the job in the middle-overs.
The Sunrisers set up will badly want Pandey to score some runs as they have struggled because of their batting.
Yusuf Pathan showed some hint of form in the last few games while shouldering the responsibility of guiding the team.
The veteran all-rounder can smack the ball and the management will want some superlative effort from him.
Yusuf’s form will boost the Sunrisers team management as he has the capability to damage any bowling unit.
Shakib Al Hasan:
Shakib Al Hasan has shown good form with the ball throughout the tournament. However, his return to form with the bat will benefit the SRH camp as they have lacked runs.
Shakib’s all-round form will be a huge bonus for the Hyderabad squad.
Goswami replaced Wriddhiman Saha in the playing XI as the latter sustained an injury. However, Sreevats is yet to get an opportunity with the bat.
However, he will be raring to put some runs under his belt if he gets an opportunity.
Rashid will have to continue his good form if the Sunrisers want to play the playoffs leg on a winning note.
Sandeep Sharma has capitalised the opportunities he has got so far in this season. He has been accurate and has swung the ball brilliantly.
Paceman will have to make early breakthroughs if SRH wants to restrict the opposition to a modest total.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar will look to pick some early wickets with the new ball. He has led Hyderabad’s bowling attack over the years and will have to continue his job.
Bhuvneshwar will be crucial to spoil Kolkata’s party.
Siddarth Kaul has been amazing for Sunrisers Hyderabad side barring the last game. As a result, he got a call from the national side for the upcoming tours.
Meanwhile, he has to put his A game out in the next outing to continue their winning run.
