IPL 2018: CSK is Well & Truly Back – Kedar Jadhav

Kedar Jadhav hailed Chennai Super Kings’ stunning win over Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League opener on Saturday.

Returning to the league after two years, the Super Kings were looking primed to be embarrassed. Chasing 166, they lost wickets at regular intervals which nearly derailed their chase.

Half of the team was back in the hut with just 75 runs on the board. Their condition only worsened with the passage of the game. At one stage, they were reeling at 118 for eight in the 17th over.

The game looked as good as over for them before Dwayne Bravo played an absolute blinder.

Jadhav’s cameo took Super Kings over the line

The Windies all-rounder played a stunning knock of 68 off just 30 balls to put his team on the verge of a win.

However, his dismissal on the last ball of the 19th over, threw the game wide open. With just one wicket in hand, Super Kings would have feared for the worst. But Jadhav, who had retired hurt while batting earlier, put his team in front on him and came out to bat.

The nervousness then increased when Jadhav played three consecutive dot deliveries before hitting a six and a four to seal the game.

Delighted with the win, he took to Twitter to laud his teammates’ efforts. He also made sure to point it out that the team is truly back in the league.

“What a match a Wankhede.. Wonderful effort by the boys! Classy hitting by @DJBravo47 brought us back in the game & I feel proud to have finished it off in the last over! Still feels like a dream! CSK is well & truly back!” he tweeted.
