IPL 2018: Final, CSK vs SRH – Five Players to Watch Out For

An exciting battle is on the cards when Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) for the much-coveted 2018 Indian Premier League (IPL) title at the Wankhede Stadium on May 25 (Sunday).

Meanwhile, statistics will be on Chennai’s side with three wins out of three games in this eleventh edition of the lucrative Twenty20 league. However, SRH has got the much-needed momentum beating KKR in the last over.

Both the teams have some exciting talents who have performed throughout the season. The players have been pivotal for the team’s success in one way or another.

With the mega finale, starting on Sunday evening, everybody will be on their toes to make a mark for their team.

On that note, let us take a look at five players who can change the course of the final game.

Here are the five players to watch out for in the finale:

Many doubted Hyderabad’s chances after David Warner missed out on this year’s IPL. However, Kane Williamson has smashed all those speculations leading the team from the front.

Williamson has been spectacular with the bat scoring runs almost in all the fixtures. So far, he has notched up 688 runs from 16 games at an outstanding average of 52.92.

Moreover, he has also registered eight half-centuries in this exciting season.

The Sunrisers will bank on their skipper in the qualifier – to take their team all the way in the grand finale against Chennai.

MAHENDRA SINGH DHONI:

Mahendra Singh Dhoni‘s form in this edition of the league has been a huge advantage for the two-time champions, Super Kings. He has provided depth in the batting unit allowing the top-order to play freely.

Dhoni has already smashed 455 runs in fifteen games at a strike rate of over 150. Chennai management will want Dhoni to fire once again and guide his team to the final.

Moreover, he is cool as a cucumber on the field and no one is better than him in taking decisions during the crunch moments of the game.

The former India skipper will bring in all his experience to take his team over the rope in the finals.

AMBATI RAYUDU:

The opener from Hyderabad, Ambati Rayudu has been a revelation for the Super Kings with the willow.

In the fifteen league games this season, Rayudu has scored a staggering 586 runs for Chennai at a strike-rate of 153, with his highest score being unbeaten 100 against Hyderabad.

Moreover, his form with the bat for the Super Kings earned him a place in the Indian team for the upcoming tour to England.

The right-hand batsman Rayudu will be desperate to justify his selection and play a brilliant hand against Hyderabad at his favourite Wankhede Stadium.

LUNGI NGIDI:

The seamer from South Africa Lungisani Ngidi has made an early mark after getting his opportunities in the latter half of the tournament.

Ngidi has the ability to swing the ball upfront and Chennai will look to him for early wickets.

Moreover, Ngidi will be eager to make a long-lasting impression early in his career that too in a tournament watched by one and all.

Dhoni will want his pacer to replicate his performance and bring in the much-coveted trophy.

RASHID KHAN:

The young leg-spinner from Afghanistan has been phenomenal early on in his career. Rashid Khan has led the Sunrisers bowling unit and subsequently played pivotal for Hyderabad in qualifying as the table-toppers.

Although his team has had adverse result in the last few games. Rashid has continued with his job in this IPl season.

However, his heroics in Qualifier second with both bat and ball has stamped his authority in this league. Khan has picked wickets consistently and been economical throughout the tournament.

The wrist-spinner has bagged 21 wickets and has bowled at an economy rate of 6.78. He needs to continue his blistering form and contain CSK batsmen to a modest total in Sunday’s finale.
