England Women’s Cricket team all-rounder, Alexandra Hartley has hailed Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni‘s splendid efforts after his last night (April 15( show against the Kings XI Punjab in Mohali.
Meanwhile, the ongoing eleventh edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) saw yet another last-over thriller, as the visitors fell short of just four runs.
However, Dhoni, with his severe back injury, failed to take his team over the rope despite his brilliant knock. The vintage Dhoni was on offer, as he scored unbeaten 79 runs off just 44 deliveries.
With 17 runs needed from the last over, CSK failed to replicate their heroics from their game against Kolkata Knight Riders. Mohit Sharma held his nerve to take the home side to a thrilling victory.
Ambati Rayadu (49) and Ravindra Jadeja (19) also tried their level best but eventually failed, as CSK suffered their first loss of the season after sealing first two fixtures.
Moreover, previously, Punjab banked on Chris Gayle (66) and KL Rahul’s (37) blazing start – to post a huge total of 197 in 20 overs.
The middle-order also chipped in with a useful contribution to helping Punjab close in on the 200-run mark.
Dhoni came to the crease after the departure of last match hero, Sam Billings. Although he started off very slow, but soon shifted the gear. He went after every bowler, as they went in search of the leather.
Moreover, Dhoni’s knock included six boundaries and five towering sixes.
The England all-rounder Hartley took to Twitter to laud Dhoni’s brilliance. She also noted that Dhoni proved why nobody should write off the legend from the gentleman’s game itself.
“No matter the result. MS Dhoni showing why you should never write off a legend!
#Dhoni#IPL#CSK,” Hartley tweeted.

Moreover, Alexandra Hartley had a pretty average performance throughout her stint in this land of many cultures.
