Rishabh Pant smashed an unbeaten 128 off just 63 balls which included 15 fours and seven sixes. He single-handedly took Delhi Daredevils (DD) to a competitive total of 187 for five.

The swashbuckling batsman Pant is considered as one of India’s most promising batsmen and he proved it right as he played one of the most entertaining innings by any Indian batsmen in the shortest format of the game against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium on May 10.

However, Pant’s efforts went in vain but he certainly received great appreciation after playing a thunderous 128 runs knock against the best bowling line-up in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Playing such a knock in a losing cause has not weakened Pant’s self-confidence and the wicket-keeper batsman wishes to play many more such innings.

On Thursday, Pant became the second youngest player to score an IPL hundred and the youngest to score 1000 runs in the IPL.

Manish Pandey is the youngest Indian to score an IPL century at the age of 19 in 2009.

Pant also overtook KL Rahul of Kings XI Punjab to take the ‘Orange Cap’ as he took his tally to 521 runs in 11 matches.

However, this was not the first time that Pant has mesmerized the fans with his power hitting.

In the previous season of the IPL, Pant played a 97-runs innings against Gujarat Lions (GL). He the then took almost his team over the line.

A day after Pant’s achievement, the southpaw took to Instagram to thank his fans for the love and support.

“It was emotional moment for me because i wanted to score a hundred since my first season. When I reached on 97 i got scared but it wasn’t there for long i got away with a boundary and this special moment came. Happy to have my first ton of IPL. I will try to perform more consistent .Thanks for love and support,” he wrote.
