IPL 2019: 13th Match, Kings XI Punjab vs Rajasthan Royals – Match Report; It was yet another thrilling game in the Indian Premier League 2019. The visitors Delhi Capitals lost a thriller in the hands of Kings XI Punjab. It was a dramatic game for Punjab, who won the game from jaws of the defeat.
Turning Point Of The Match:
The spell of Sam Curran was the crucial aspect of the match. His scintillating spell completely changed the complexion of the game. It will be a spell for Sam Curran, which will be cherished for a long time. Apart from that, Shami has been brilliant for the team.
Kings XI Punjab vs Rajasthan Royals – 2nd Innings
In reply to Kings XI’s 166, Delhi Capitals lost the previous match winner Prithvi Shaw on the first ball of the innings. However, the skipper Shreyas Iyer and the experienced campaigner in the side Shikhar Dhawan balanced things with their brilliant partnership in the middle.
However, Proteas bowler Viljoen gave a much-needed breakthrough by rattling the wickets of Shreyas Iyer. He was followed by Shikhar Dhawan when Ravichandran Ashwin bowled a beautiful carrom ball.
Despite the loss of Dhawan, Rishabh Pant and Colin Ingram added 62 runs for the 4th wicket, which turned things in favour of Delhi Capitals. Just when things looked drifting away, Mohammed Shami’s stupendous delivery sent Rishabh Pant back to the hut.
Chris Morris, who got the promotion in the batting order also dismissed in a run-out fashion, which pulled Kings XI Punjab back into the game. In the end, it all boiled down to 18 balls off 23 runs with Sam Curran having the final two overs.
The young Englishman delivered the goods by removing well-set Colin Ingram and H Patel by conceding just 5 runs. It all boiled down to 19 runs off 12 balls. The vows further stretched when Shami dismantled the stumps of Hanuma Vihari.

Initially, it was Shreyas Iyer, who won the toss, elected to bowl first. Kings XI Punjab surprised one and all by removing Chris Gayle from the playing XI and asked the England all-rounder Sam Curran to open the innings. It seemed like a pretty good move as Sam Curran gave a brilliant start to the team.
Alongside Sam Curran, the right-handed batsman KL Rahul also started things pretty much in a solid mode but unfortunately, lost his wicket when Chris Morris trapped him in front of the wicket Mayank Agarwal continued his fine form for the team by smashing it beautifully.
However, the hard-luck haunted him, as he was dismissed run-out by Shikhar Dhawan. In between, Sarfaraz Khan has been brilliant for the team. He hung in the middle by knocking runs on a consistent basis to put run-rate intact.
He was accompanied by David Miller, who looked in Ominous touch with his willow. He found the fence more often than not to make Punjab fielders chasing the leather more often than not. His stunning knock helped his team all set to go for a kill in the final 5 overs of the game.
Though Mandeep Singh took a time to wield his willow, the Stylish southpaw David Miller got into his zone to smash them all over the park. However, it was Chris Morris, who came to the aid of Delhi Capitals by picking David Miller.
In the end, all they managed was 166. It has been a great display of death bowling by Delhi Capitals. The South African dup Chris Morris and Kagiso Rabada tightened things to perfection.
