IPL 2019: 17th Match, Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Kolkata Knight Riders – Match Report; Finally, the first win in the Indian Premier League 2019 makes its way for Royal Challengers Bangalore. The captain Virat Kohli alongside AB de Villiers were the stars with the bat while Pawan Negi did it with the ball.
Turning Point of the match:
Who else? it was Andre Russell, who completely turned things for Kolkata Knight Riders. The brilliant striker of the cricket ball smashed 48 runs off just 13 balls to snatch the victory from Royal Challengers Bangalore.

In reply to RCB’s 205, Kolkata Knight Riders got off to a flying start with Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine smoking the ball more often than not. However, Pawan Negi’s stunning catch saw Sunil Narine walking back to the hut.
In between, Robin Uthappa and Chris Lynn displayed their class by whacking the ball to all corners of the park. The duo kept Kolkata Knight Riders in the chase thus letting Royal Challengers stay on their toes.
Just when things looked drifting away for Royal Challengers, then came the magical spell of bowling from Pawan Negi, which completely turned things in favour of Royal Challengers Bangalore.
His couple of overs in the middle overs saw Robin Uthappa and Chris Lynn walking back to the hut. The slow batting from Dinesh Karthik didn’t give much for Kolkata Knight Riders in their big chase. Nitish Rana tried to up the ante but failed to smash it throughout the innings.
In the end, Dinesh Karthik tried his best to get under the ball but Saini got better off him. All it boiled down to 53 runs off 18 balls with Andre Russell in the crease, who played 3 balls for his 1 run at the dismissal of Karthik.
But, it was just a matter of time for Russell, who finished the match his stunning striking. He finished things off in a style for Kolkata Knight Riders thus handing fifth loss for RCB.
Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Kolkata Knight Riders – 1st Innings
Initially, it was Dinesh Karthik, who won the toss, chose to bowl first. The wicket looked fantastic to bat, which was perfectly used by Virat Kohli and Co. The opener Parthiv Patel alongside Virat Kohli smashed KKR bowlers to all corners of the park in the powerplay overs.
Parthiv Patel continued his stunning form while Virat Kohli looked altogether in a different class. The duo added a fantastic 64 runs for the first wicket before Nitish Rana bagging the wicket of Parthiv Patel.
It was a blessing in disguise moment for Royal Challengers Bangalore, as AB de Villiers made his way into the crease. He took a couple of bowls to get into the momentum and then went for a kill at M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The duo went on to add a massive partnership of 108 runs for the second wicket to put Royal Challengers Bangalore on a driver seat. Their partnership came to an end when Kuldeep Yadav plucked a fantastic return catch of Virat Kohli.
Virat Kohli walked back with 84 runs to his name while AB de Villiers went on with his strokes. In between, Marcus Stoinis made his way to the crease, who smashed it beautifully to help RCB reach a massive score on the board.
In the end, the blitz from AB de Villiers and Co helped Royal Challengers Bangalore to post 205 runs on the board. For Kolkata Knight Riders, it was a nightmare with the ball.
Now, Royal Challengers Bangalore will host Delhi Capitals on Sunday Afternoon while Kolkata Knight Riders will travel to Jaipur to take on Rajasthan Royals.
