Suryakumar Yadav is a key stakeholder in the Mumbai Indians (MI) line up with his ability to bat at any position. He has also been in good form in this edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and rightly so rates flexibility as his key to success.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians didn’t had a great start to their IPL campaign. However, they returned to winning ways in the last game beating defending champions Chennai Super Kings. This will be a huge confidence booster for the three-time IPL champions as they clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad – the current league leaders. Rohit Sharma & Co have always given tough fights to big teams, and this game will not be any different.
Suryakumar Yadav played a key role scoring a half-century batting at no 3. However, during his stint with the Kolkata Knight Riders during 2014-17, Yadav donned the finisher’s role. Speaking on his new role, Yadav is happy to carry the responsibilities on his shoulders. The homeboy looks to use this responsibility and set a platform for the batters to follow.

“I have always enjoyed batting anywhere because I have kept myself flexible,” said Suryakumar. “As you know, when I was with other franchises I have batted at all numbers. It is a different role but at number three it is close to opening as well, so I don’t see it any differently.
“Rather I look at it in a way like I have a good responsibility on my shoulders, to play a grinding inning, give a good platform for the lower order and provide firepower,” he added.
We have plans for Hyderabad: Yadav
Mumbai Indians will face table-toppers Sunrisers Hyderabad who have been in fine form. They have won three games in a row after losing the opening game. Suryakumar Yadav said they have plans in place for the in-form Hyderabad. However, he also stressed that they are focusing on their game instead of on their opponents.
“We have been following their game and we have some plans for them but we are actually focussing on what we are doing good instead of focusing on them,” Suryakumar said.
“The mood in the camp is really good, we have just won our home game. So we are focusing on our strong points, what we can do on the game day and take it from there,” he concluded.
