IPL 2019: Delhi Capitals Restricts Kings XI Punjab to 166, Twitter Reacts

It was decent first innings for both the sides at Mohali. Perhaps, it is one of those days where both the teams would be happy after the completion of the first innings quota. The good handy knocks from Sarfaraz Khan, David Miller and the young Mandeep Singh helped them to put a competitive total on the board.

Initially, it was Shreyas Iyer, who won the toss, elected to bowl first. Kings XI Punjab surprised one and all by removing Chris Gayle from the playing XI and asked the England all-rounder Sam Curran to open the innings. It seemed like a pretty good move as Sam Curran gave a brilliant start to the team.

David Miller scored 43 off 30 balls:

Alongside Sam Curran, the right-handed batsman KL Rahul also started things pretty much in a solid mode but unfortunately, lost his wicket when Chris Morris trapped him in front of the wicket Mayank Agarwal continued his fine form for the team by smashing it beautifully.

However, the hard-luck haunted him, as he was dismissed run-out by Shikhar Dhawan. In between, Sarfaraz Khan has been brilliant for the team. He hung in the middle by knocking runs on a consistent basis to put run-rate intact.

He was accompanied by David Miller, who looked in Ominous touch with his willow. He found the fence more often than not to make Punjab fielders chasing the leather more often than not. His stunning knock helped his team all set to go for a kill in the final 5 overs of the game.

Though Mandeep Singh took a time to wield his willow, the Stylish southpaw David Miller got into his zone to smash them all over the park. However, it was Chris Morris, who came to the aid of Delhi Capitals by picking David Miller.

In the end, all they managed was 166. It has been a great display of death bowling by Delhi Capitals. The South African dup Chris Morris and Kagiso Rabada tightened things to perfection.
